Spring is in the air. And Farmers markets abound. Have you been to the one in Mount Pleasant, or Moncks Corner? How about the Summerville Farmers Market? This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Summerville Farmers Market and if you want to experience fresh, then you better stop on by.
What is happening this week you ask…
Farmers Markets abound here in South Carolina. Join us at any of the markets listed below and shop from your friends and neighbor. Enjoy the free range chicken eggs, antibiotic and hormone free chicken, pork, and beef; find some local produce or seafood. Shop with local artisans as well. Oh, and of course you will always find the freshest roasted coffee by the cup or the pound, fresh cold pressed Ice Coffee, hand crafted sodas, and house made Kombucha tea at our booth at either of these locations. Just follow that fabulous smell.

4/13 Wednesday Wine and Canvas 6:30pm-9:30pm Think of it as the painting class with beverages. No talent or equipment required. You just show up and BAM you are an artist. What a great way to share an evening out with your friends. Tickets are $35 and that entitles you to all your supplies and 10% off your beverages for the evening. 4/14-Thursday Open Mic Night hosted byFleming Moore 7pm-9:30pm Come on out and experience something new and exciting every week. Talented musicians from all over the area come and share their gifts and flair with you the audience. You never know who will show up.
4/15-Forty Mile 7pm-9pm Detour Mark Yampolsky is a singer-songwriter whose original music is a soulful blend of the Americana and Folk Rock genres. He enjoys sharing his music and the stories that wrap around each of the tunes. A lifelong musician, he was given his first guitar and began playing music at a young age. During his school years he played in various bands throughout the northeast and while attending the University of Maryland he was part of a duo that performed at coffee houses and campus venues. Several years ago the lead singer of a local contemporary country band heard him and Mark was recruited to play guitar and mandolin in the band. Currently Mark performs around the Charleston area as a solo singer-songwriter as well as in various duo / trio acts. He also spends time in Nashville collaborating with regional songwriters and promoting his original music. Current projects include a music-publishing contract in Los Angeles and a song-writing deal with a film production company.
Mark’s debut CD “Forty Mile Detour” was released In 2010. The project was written and recorded in Charleston and was produced by Jay Clifford, the former lead singer with the band Jump Little Children.
4/16 Saturday Busker 7pm-10pmThe award winning Best in Summerville band is back at CCR to delight you with their new songs and help you reminisce with some oldie but goodies.Their music is best described as “inclusive”. The cover songs they play are ever-changing and include Beatles, REM, Goo Goo Dolls, Of Monsters and Men, B-52’s, disco, Madonna, KT Tunstill, Adele, ColdPlay, Tom Petty, etc. If you can’t groove to something that they play, then just stay home!
