8/26-Wednesday Dining for Women envisions a world where the lives of women and girls  have been transformed and extreme poverty has been reduced because Dining for Women connected people in creative, powerful ways that assure gender equality.

This month we will be learning about and helping Community Cloud Forest Conservation alleviate poverty and protect forests through education, community development, leadership scholarships and ecological improvements to agriculture. CCFC believes that holistic human/ community development through education and capacity building is the key to peace building in Guatemala’s central highlands.

Come enjoy food, fellowship and help us make a difference in the lives of others. For more information email me

8/27 7pm-9:45pm Open Mic Night hosted by Fleming Moore Come on out and experience something new and exciting every week.  Talented musicians from all over the area come and share their gifts and flair with you the audience. You never know who will show up.

8/27 Thursday, 7pm-9pm Spoken Word hosted by Eve Star You are cordially invited to Coastal Coffee Roaster’s Thursday night spoken word, Strangers in a Strange Land, hosted by Eve Star.  From seven to nine o’clock, every Thursday evening, we will convene beside the coffee bins and weave our words into the background sound of next door’s Open Mic Night, hosted by Fleming Moore.  Snack or dine, sip coffee or wine, and join in the exploration of rhythm and poetry as we gather together around This Stage.

This Stage is an Embassy, and we are all Strangers in a Strange Land.  Each of us walked a different road to get here, and now, we are safe.

This Stage is a Youth Hostel and we are all Travelers.  We speak different languages, know different customs and tell many different tales.  This Stage is a Mountaintop.  No body owns This Stage.  We gather here to cast our eyes 360 degrees and see what we cannot see alone.  We gather here to carry on the ancient, oral tradition of our ancesotors; to speak, to listen, and to remember.

8/28-Friday, 7pm-9pm The Medium Their music pulls influences from indie rock, jazz, and blues. Excellent for fans of easy listening and laid back improv jamming.  Full of entertainment with a chill, relaxed vibe.
